I sweat from my forehead, armpits and hands excessively. Do you know of a doctor in New York i could speak with?
Thinking about sweat gland removal for possible hyperhidrosis, please advise?
hi. for hyperhidrosis of armpits u need to undergo an excision biopsy of d axillary skin. it is 100percent curative but for ur hands d only procedure available is a cervical sympathectomy which is successful in only about half d patients as for d forehead der is nothing much anybody can do about it.
Reply:You may not need surgery for this. One of the many legitimate (read MEDICAL) used for Botox is for hyperhidrosis. I'm not certain which type of doctor you would speak to about this, but you start with your family doctor. You may (this is just a guess) end up seeing a dermatolgist.
Reply:First of all, do you have any health concerns like weight or anything that makes you sweat? Im 21 and all throughout middle school and highschool I would sweat terribly from my armpits. Its actually stopped thank God! I do not recommend the removal. Some people have a condition where they dont sweat at all. They cant do anything active or go outside in the summer because their body has no way of cooling itself or breathing. Just keep a rag in your back pocket and give it some time. I know exactly how ya feel cuz i consider the removal too when I was like 13. Wearing sweatshirts everyday got old! good luck
