Does anyone know of anything that can help with excess sweating?

For the past year or so, I have had a massive sweat problem- all my tops have sweat stains, and I can't remember the last time I wore just a t-shirt, because I always have to put a jumper on top to cover up the wet patches. I just found out that it's actually a medical condition called hyperhidrosis, but before I go out and spend a load of money on extra strength anti-perspirants (nomal ones do nothing), I was wondering if anyone knew of anything that worked for them?

Does anyone know of anything that can help with excess sweating?
stay in the shade
Reply:a non aluminium containing deodarant.
Reply:get DRI CLOR from the chemist its especially for that
Reply:take the meds
Reply:You can go and have a minor operation where they cut the sweat gland or something like that. Also there is a special deodorant for excessive sweating too. Think its Driclor.
Reply:You should change your name to sweaty betty
Reply:You can get a medicine, I forget what it is called, but you apply it to wherever you are sweating the most and leave it on overnight. You wipe it off in the morning. Do this about 4 times a week.

If you are interested, e-mail me and I will ask my mom (pediatrician) what it is called. I used it, and it worked really well.
Reply:Driclor should work although it can cause a sore rash if you have sensitive skin. It is available at the chemists without a prescription. If you can afford it botox injections will definitely work but are expensive and have to be repeated regularly. I very much doubt they would be available on the NHS but you could always ask your GP.
Reply:I have this problem, for years I had to buy black tops to hide the patches. The answer is a product called Driclor which you apply at night before bed. It really does work. They sell it in boots. You will not have any patches after a few applications which last a week or so. Good luck.
Reply:If you are in the UK a deodorant called Mitchum is good, can get it in most supermarkets I have used it for years as I get a lot of hot flushes and they make me sweat and its brill.
Reply:Its a major step but if you find that the deodorants don't work for you (I would definitely try them first) I have heard that botox in the armpit can really help, in fact I think it stops sweating all together for a time.
Reply:Don't know the name but the doctor can prescribe an ointment.
Reply:you can buy a roll on from any chemist, its called anhydrol forte, i use it, its excellent, can use it under arms, on hands and feet, you put it on b4 bed then was off in the morning, depending on how much you sweat depends on how often you would use it, the first couple of times it stings really bad but well worth it, have recommended it to a few of my friends.
Reply:How much salt do you have in your diet? A doctor I knew in Germany reckoned this was a big cause of this.
Reply:I have had this problem recently, I think Im starting the menopause. Anyway, I have started using an extra strength deaodorant each night. You apply it before you go to bed (apparantly you sweat less when you lie down!). In the morning you apply your normal deadorant. It builds up on your skin and it has worked for me. I applied it for approx 4 days, then I apply it every 3-4 days, and this has done the trick. Any good chemist or supermarket stocks these products, the one I used cost approx £4. Good luck
Reply:Black gooash or pyto soy nutrients may be of use, take a visit to your health food shop they will be able to advise re an aid for your condition.

Good wishes
Reply:I suffer the same problem, and it used to bring me down!

I discovered Odaban - it's an anti-perspirant similar to Driclor although I have never used both so couldn't compare the 2, but find Odaban to be successful in stopping me sweating.

Reply:Hi, y could try PerspireX or Dryiclor but these do irritate the

skin.

There is a new product out which works wonders and is non toxic called Alvin Connor natural balance.

It works with natural crystals and lets the skin breath at the same time. Go to Alvin Connor.com for more info.

Good luck .
Reply:Consult a doctor about this problem you can get cures now for it...
