I have had a sweating problem (Hyperhidrosis) since age 14. I am now 20 and I feel like I am going to just have this problem forever. It's hard being a girl with a sweating problem. I can't wear sertan shirts and fabrics. I don't wear sandals or any kind of shoe that I wouldn't be able to wear socks with. I would wear them but they make my feet stink, and I am afraid I am going to twist my ankle. I have gone to Doctors to find out if there is anything to do about my condition. They have wrote me prescriptions for Anhydrous Aluminum Chloride and Drysol. I have also used many different kinds of anti perspants. Nothing works for me. I am starting to get use to the fact that I will always have this condition. It makes me very emotional, and It makes me feel like I can't live life the way that I would like too!
Do you have a sweating problem?
try taking either black cohosh or a soy product. that is what they have us take for hot flashes and it does work for the sweating. the soy works the best.you can find it by the vitiamins. its actually for menapause but try it.it helps me also vitiamin e helps but still not as well as soy.you have to take it for like 90 days to really notice it so dont give up right away.
Reply:My daughter has the same problem, she's now 18. She uses Drysol but it seems to not be working as good as it did when she first started using it. I heard (and saw a program) on getting botox injections to stop the sweat glands. It seems to have worked for the guy they did it on and if Drysol doesn't work for my daughter this will be our last resort. It is quite embarrassing especially for the ladies.
Reply:If nothing else seems to work then you may want to consider having the sweat glands removes. I was considering having that done because I use to sweat even in the winter, but I guess over time it began to calm down. The botox shots I hear are painful and they do not last long and are expensive, so you would have to get them every six months I believe. So, I would ask the dermatologists about the removing your sweat glands.
