Do you sweat excessively..all the time??

Hi all,

I sweat a lot and it's a medical condition. I have no control over it. My hands, feet, and underarm areas fill with sweat. I am very uncomfortable due to this condition.

Have you or anybody gotten treated for hyperhidrosis or excessive sweating? Please let me. I appreciate it. Thank you so much.

Do you sweat excessively..all the time??
Hey there--You should know that at least 3% of the population suffers from hyperhidrosis and that it appears to be genetically linked. Scientists at Einstein Medical Center and St Louis University are working on figuring out how that happens and when they do, a cure will be possible. But until that fine day, there are treatments that can manage your sweating really well. You just have to work at it, and find a good dermatologist that is up on all the latest research and options. The best place to find them is at the International Hyperhidrosis Society's web site (SweatHelp.org). They have docs listed from all over the world, so you should be able to find one near you. Plus, they educate docs and the public about the various treatment options and best techniques. If you go to the Treatments section of their website you'll see a matrix that shows the area of the body and the treatment options available. Then you can read about the different options so you're totally educated when you go see your doc.

I also see that they have a newsletter and a recent story talked about a new anti-perspirant product called Secret Clinical Strength. Apparently this product can be used anywhere to *help* manage the sweating. There's even a link in the newsletter story that gets you a free sample. Might be worth a try while you're waiting for your derm appointment :-) Good luck fellow sweater!
