Sweaty HANDS!!?
hey there I'm 17 and i have sweaty hands as well....i know wat u are going through cause i go through it everyday....it is really annoying i've tried everything from talc to deodorants....my cousin has the same thing she went to her derm. and she recommended pills....but guess wat? they didn't work!! i know botox help but i dont wanna keep injecting myself might as well take the surgery...rite? i talked to my mom about it and well she is thinking about it...i just hope she would let me do it...i researched it and it doesn't sound so bad...just a small incision in your arm..there is minimal scarring and ur insurance pays for it...im not sure how much it costs but i want my hands to stop sweating.....i cant find a boyfriend and my self esteem is very low due to this condition i have.....i cant "high-five", hold hands, or even write in school without getting stares or an annoying sound of my paper being all hard..(due to the sweat that dried up and is now absorbed by the paper) ....im worried that my hands will always sweat....while i was writing this my hands were sweating....so that suxs...dont worry we'll get through this someway...good luck and have a good day..
Reply:I sweat excessively because of the medication I take.
I use something called Drysol to help. It's a strong, liquid anti-perspirant. Talk to your pharmacist. It works wonders, and is often used on the hands and feet.
Reply:I feel your pain. My older sister had the same problem. She's in her 30's now and has mostly outgrown it. I am 27 and have noticed they are dry once in a while. It is kind of gross. Mine are always cold too so that doesn't help.
If a guy isn't interested in you because he thinks your sweaty hands are gross then you don't want to date someone that shallow anyway. Besides, it's kind of funny when girls get the opportunity to gross out a guy. If you don't let it bother you then most guys won't let it bother them. (They'll probably start sweating the minute they try to hold hands with you anyway!) The problem is with the boys not your sweaty hands. (I had quite a few boyfriends in high school and am married to a great guy now.)
Reply:I also have hyperhydrosis, but in my hands and feet. I'm 16 and I've have this problem since i was in 6Th grade, 11. I've visited many dermatologist who have tried there hardest to help me but is so severe nothing seemed to work. I've tried drysol which is a liquid but only worked in the center on my hand and feet so that really didn't help my problem because it would wear off and i would start sweating again. I have tried everything except the two last solutions which i dont, botox and surgery. I know how you feel because I suffer everyday and night and its really stressful in school because its embarrassing if someone notices. And i have also never had a boyfriend because of this. So my advise to you is to go to a dermatologist and have them try whatever works on you. Hopefully you will have better luck than I did.
