Excessive sweating?

It's called Hyperhidrosis and I've had it since I can ever remember. It's excessive sweating of just about anywhere...most people think it means armpits but I have it in my hands and feet. The only thing that really bothers me are my hands. When your hands sweat like mine do at this age it is a complete hindrance on a girl's social life. There is a surgery to fix this kind of thing but it comes with a lot of side effects and insurance doesn't cover it, does anyone know how much it can cost?





Besides the surgery are there are resources I can use to calm down the sweating in my hands? Anything else just to relieve some of the sweating?





I'm only really looking for opinions from people who actually have Hyperhidrosis or have dealt with it at some point, because if you haven't then you just don't have any idea what it's like. You can only truly understand if you've had to deal with it.

Hey, I feel your pain. It's no fun having to cover your hands with your sleeves so you don't mutilate your school papers. I would suggest using Certain Dri (Target, Walgreens, about $6) right on your hands. It says in the directions that it's okay to use on feet, so I imagine you could use it on your hands too. It actually shrinks your sweat glands so they produce about 2% of the sweat that they normally would. It has no smell, and you can wash normally and it will still work. Ask your doctor before you try it, just in case. Good luck!
Reply:you cant fix ur problem unless u get botox injections. thats the only way to go. i used to sweat under my arms, but the botox fixed that. seriously, you should get that.
Reply:i don;t have what you have'but i sweat lots.at times when i go out to the store'someone will say'oh you came out of the shower'but it's sweating.i can sit and do nothing and be dripping wet.it;s embarrassing even in the summer.i try not to venture out much in the summer 'as with all the hot weather 'I'll overheat,,,,good luck to you.....
