Has anyone had botox injections for hyperhidrosis in the palms? If so, does it hurt? I'm terrified of needles!

How many injections go in each hand? how long does it take?

Well, it does hurt, but if you go to a doctor that knows what they are doing to manage the pain, it's not too bad. You can also try iontophoresis, and/or anti-perspirants (like new Secret Clinical Strength). You need to talk with a really good dermatologist about these options. The best place to find one is through the International Hyperhidrosis Society's web site (www.SweatHelp.org). And that's also the best place to find more info on just about everything having to do with excessive sweating.

Their newsletter is awesome too--make sure you subscribe. In fact, I just found an article there about your question. Here's how you can find it: Go to www.SweatSolutions.org, then click the Archive link at the top; Scroll down to the July/August 2006 edition and click on the link "Expert Answers to Frequently Asked Questions About Botox". Good luck!
Reply:People who have had botox shots say it hurts for several days. There are better solutions than this!
