Will I ever get a boyfriend with my off-putting condition?

I have palmar hyperhidrosis (excessively sweaty hands) and i don't know what to do about it! i never had a boyfriend in my life and im 15. i fear that guys will think im a freak and reject me or something. Im not UGLY, but of course im not the prettiest girl in school. pics:

i have never even told my parents about my problem or any of my friends....im so depressed..but will there ever be someone out there who will accept me for who i am?

Trust me girl, if sweaty hands are your only problem, I think you will be okay. Maybe your self esteem is what you should be worrying about. Not getting a boyfriend should be one of the farthest fears. I would recommend talking to your parents about your problem and have them take you to the doctor, maybe they can give you a prescription that can help or get rid of it. Sweaty hands is nothing to be embarassed about sweetie! Good luck!

You will definitely be able to find someone who like s you for who you are so I wouldn't worry about that too much.


But if your condition is depressing you, definitely seek some medical help. A treatment may be only a doctor's visit away.

However, it obviously bothers you, so please speak with your parents, and ask them to take you to the dermatologist. They have a number of things that they can do to help alleviate or eliminate this problem. Dont let it inhibit you when there are ways to fix it, and remember- guys really dont care about your palms, lol.
Reply:guys don't care about stuff like that as much as girls do -- don't worry so much. maybe you could find a cute guy with sweaty hands (its not that uncommon -- there are lots of people out there with sweaty hands). its more important to be approachable then to sit back and let the world go by becuase you think everyone will reject you when they won't -- nobody is perfect.
Reply:Of course you will! The more nervous and self-conscious you get, the more your hands will sweat so take a deep breath and relax! Are there any creams you can get from the doc's to help? Even if not, it's really normal to get sweaty hands. Avoid holding hands if you prefer: put your arm around him instead.

secondly alot of ppl have sweaty hands but nobody notices, just don't press your hands against a desk or anything like that. because some desks leave handprints

Reply:Hey don't fret. I have insanely sweaty palms too. Youre way cuter than I was in high school (and I was voted my high schools hottie at age 15) so you're good to go! THe thing is that guys are driven towards confidence! SO being so down about this could be part of the problem...just don't become a b*tch!


Oh and of course all my bf's knew about my sweaty palms bc there was like no way around it. I always just make jokes about it bc no one is perfect and you have to have a sense of humor! A good one that I always use with a guy is that my hands get sweaty when I am nervous, so being around someone like you is intimidating... and then you just start laughing and say no honestly my hands are just always clammy.


And if youre still so worried next time u go to the DR for a checkup tell them! at your age you are considered a mature minor and they wont discuss any of this stuff w/ your parents! But actually one of your parents likely suffers from sweaty palms!!!!
